DroneWISE is constituted of 6 partners representing 5 member states including Bulgaria, Croatia, Estonia, Germany and Greece, bringing forward a broad European perspective.
The Department of Police is located in Fürstenfeldbruck and in Sulzbach Rosenberg and currently trains the majority of police students in Bavaria at the campus in Fürstenfeldbruck. Students here train for their career on professional and executive levels for the Police Enforcement Service (either Police Force / Constabulary or Criminal Investigation Police Department). The University of Applied Sciences – Police Affairs (HfoD) teaches future higher ranked police officers in various disciplines including psychology, political science and social sciences. The inter-disciplinary research team of the HfoD examines various domains relevant for policing including cybercrime, radicalisation, extremism, terrorism among others. Security research for and via the police strengthens everyday networking in police practice with training and further education, in other words integrating theory and practice. The research team of the HfoD provides scientific knowledge on relevant topics in the field (i.e. security research, crime prevention or crime research) to police or institutions of the security structure and aids in the design of further training courses and seminars and the mediation of contacts. In addition, the research team supports police and security authorities by providing scientific services in solving day-to-day problems.
The European Institute (EI) is an independent policy centre that was founded in April 1999 just before Bulgaria started EU membership negotiations. Since its creation the Institute has become one of the leading Bulgarian independent policy and research centres dealing with matters related to European integration. It has commendable in-house expertise of practitioners who have worked with the EU and boast a profound understanding of the process of Europeanization and legal harmonization and compatibility within Member States. EI has developed a comprehensive network of external experts in key areas like European Regional and Social policies, Justice and Home Affairs, Migration policy, Agriculture, Security, SME business, etc. Over the years this network has also widened to include representatives from Central and South East Europe. EI’s expertise is widely recognized both by the governmental institutions and non- governmental community in Bulgaria, South East Europe, Turkey and the Eastern Partnership countries
The University of Applied Sciences Velika Gorica is a Croatian higher education institution founded in 2003 with a mission to develop, modernize and implement specialized undergraduate and graduate study programmes in the areas of crisis management, optometry, information technologies, motor vehicle maintenance and aircraft engineering. The University is located in Velika Gorica near the capital city of Croatia, Zagreb. It is comprised of two modern buildings with 19 lecture rooms and 15 offices for teachers, including 851 seating places, 220 computers and a fully equipped laboratory of optometry. Its modern infrastructure and equipment, as well as professionals with expert knowledge and experience, provide excellent pre-conditions for successful and quality research relevant for this project. By providing Crisis Management undergraduate and graduate programmes, as well as short specialized courses, the University became a proud national and regional centre of higher and lifelong education and Centre of Excellence in the field of Crisis/Disaster Management.
Taken from the Arabic word for “watchman”, Saher (Europe) is a safety and security research, training and consultancy focused SME based in Estonia operating at a global level. The strategic aim of Saher (Europe) is to develop the intersection between the four key stakeholders in the international security domain: Citizens; Government Intelligence / Law Enforcement Agencies; Industry and Academia. The mission of Saher (Europe) is to provide a collaborative platform for professionals, policy-makers, practitioners and the public to advance and amplify international security innovations.
The Center for Security Studies (KEMEA) is a think tank on homeland security policies and an established research center since 2005 (L. 3387/2005) within the Hellenic Ministry of Citizen Protection, aiming to support security policy implementations in Greece at a strategic level. More specifically the main objective of KEMEA is to bring together all national Law Enforcement Agencies (Police, Fire Service, Coast Guard, Civil Protection agency, etc.) and to enable them to collaborate, interconnecting them with corresponding agencies, research institutions and the industry from around Europe. KEMEA’s activities include research and development services in context of National and European projects in close cooperation with LEAs and Border Guards, working under the auspices of the Ministry of Citizen Protection as well as training the practitioners on new systems and technologies on the security domain. Moreover KEMEA provides advisory and consulting risk-management services to an array of public and private organizations.
Rinigard (RINI) is a Zagreb based SME, specialising in providing communications security and ICT solutions for smart health solutions, critical infrastructure and security solutions. Established in 2019, the company benefits from the vast expertise and experience of its founding members and works closely with a number of global technology providers. In the security market segment, Rinigard works closely with some of the best CUAS manufacturer ,providing technical support, upgrade and customisation of products for LEAs and first responders in HR. In emergency medicine market, the company works in close cooperation with local first responders and several hospitals, implementing novel state of the art technologies and supporting with local certification and regulatory approvals.
