DroneWISE project presented in Vinkovci, Croatia at the “Civil protection and security of cities” conference

The two-day expert conference “Civil Protection and Security of Cities” was held in Vinkovci on 9th and 10th of September, organized by the magazine Zaštita, Vukovarsko-Srijemska County and the City of Vinkovci, with the support of the Platform of Croatian Counties and Cities for disaster risk reduction. The conference was attended by more than a hundred experts in the field of urban security and civil protection, who in their lectures analysed and proposed expert solutions in the field of crisis management, especially crises caused by floods, fires, earthquakes and the coronavirus pandemic. The program was divided into two panels: Civil Protection and Crisis Management (earthquakes, floods, fires) and Smart city and crisis management.  

 

During the two days, the increasing impact of climate change on the occurrence of crisis events, especially on the occurrence of floods and fires, was analysed along with the latest technological solutions in the field of critical infrastructure protection and geoinformation systems for security of cities and their property, alarm, video surveillance and connection systems.  

 

As part of the Smart city and crisis management panel, RiniGARD representatives together with their project partner University of Applied Sciences Velika Gorica, presented the outcomes of DroneWISE, which was well recieved by the audience. The final conference of the DroneWISE project, which will be held in Croatia in May 2022, has also been announced.
