Policing Insight’s Andrew Staniforth looks at the new DroneWISE counter-UAV training delivery

The fast pace of development in drone technology represents an ever-evolving range of threats – particularly in the hands of terrorists; Policing Insight’s Andrew Staniforth looks at the new counter-UAV training for first responders being delivered as part of DroneWISE, and how the project is helping to improve co-ordination and co-operation between countries and agencies.

“There is clear international consensus that there is no technological silver bullet suitable for use against all rogue drones under all circumstances, and as drone technology advances, the nature of the threat will change.”

“The aim of the training is to provide all students with a detailed and holistic understanding of the threat posed by rogue drone activity, and the effective measures required to manage and mitigate risk to a terrorist attack by use of a drone at a public place.”
